Out patient Clinic
An out-patient clinic is held each week at Monkwearmouth Hospital. The clinic is led by a Consultant in Palliative Medicine and supported by a Palliative Care Specialist Nurse.
Referrals may be made to the clinic by:
- General Practitioner
- Hospital Consultants
- Specialist Palliative Care Nurse Team
Domiciliary visits
On request from a general practitioner, a home visit may be made by a Consultant in Palliative Medicine or another member of the medical team. Such patients may be unable to attend as outpatient or day patient, or wish to stay at home for end-of-life care.
Requests for home visits should be made the by the general practitioner to medical staff at St Benedict's Hospice.
